Does Beat play the music?
Beat finds and organises songs. They open in the provider you use, like Spotify. Beat never hosts or streams audio, and playback inside Beat is only switched on where a provider allows it.
Do we still need music licences?
Yes. Playing music in classes needs a public-performance licence from your local collecting society, plus the subscriptions each provider requires. Beat does not include either.
Which music services work?
Spotify today: link-out, playlist import and, where allowed, remote control of your own Spotify app. YouTube, SoundCloud and Apple Music are under review.
Do instructors share the studio's password?
No. Each instructor signs in on their own. The studio decides in its music policy whether personal accounts may be used.
How accurate are the BPM values?
Each song shows where its tempo comes from: verified, estimated or tapped by an instructor. You can tap the beat to correct any song.
